Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Neuro ICU on the day shift. The role provides direct patient care, assists with activities of daily living, monitors vital signs, and supports the RN in delivering high-quality neurocritical care in a 16-bed unit.

You will perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter care, while documenting patient status and alerting the team to changes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Certification as CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent is required or in progress.
• AHA BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, IV removal, and specimen collection.
• Assist with Foley catheter care and document observations for RN review.
