Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work under supervision of a registered nurse, providing for patients’ personal needs, safety and comfort. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, record intake/output, and help with meals and basic clinical procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS within 30 days, plus strong reading, math, and interpersonal skills. Prior experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to patient comfort.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and complete activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs, intake/output, and assist with meals.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision of a nurse.
• Support infection control and patient safety; assist with orientation of new colleagues.
