Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a safe, clean care environment.

Responsibilities include taking measurements, providing nutrition support, reporting observations, and participating in orientation for new staff. BLS certification required within 30 days; high school diploma required; no prior experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer skills and interpersonal skills.
• New hires/transfers must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
• May take and record vital signs and measurements including height, weight and oxygen saturation.
• Collects specimens for analysis and tracks intake and output.
• Assists with nutrition, room service setup and feeding as needed.
• Performs basic clinical procedures under nurse supervision and supports infection control.
