Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant who, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides for the personal needs, comfort and safety of patients. The role includes vital signs, ADLs, nutrition support and basic clinical procedures with a focus on safety and infection control.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) required with 30 days to obtain after hire.
• Skills: basic reading, writing and four-function math.
• Knowledge: medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• Experience: none.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients and performs activities of daily living.
• Measures vital signs and records them.
• Collects specimens for analysis and tracks intake/output.
• Provides patient nutrition support and assists with meals.
• Performs basic clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Maintains safety and infection control; escorts as patient safety attendant if needed.
