Job summary

Axle is seeking a Scientist to join the NIH/NIMH team in Bethesda, MD, supporting sensory coding and neural plasticity studies. The role involves independent experimental work using multi-electrode recording, slice and in vivo techniques, data analysis, and mentorship of junior staff.

Applicants should hold a Master’s in Biology with at least three years of related experience and demonstrate strong data presentation skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Background in neuroscience and experimental design.
• Proficiency in MS Office for data handling and reporting.
• Strong data presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments using multi-electrode recording.
• Perform slice and in vivo electrophysiological recordings.
• Analyze data and prepare figures, summaries, and presentations.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and databases.
• Train and mentor junior staff on recording methods.
• Prepare summaries and reports for publication.
