Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Scientist to provide independent support services to satisfy operational objectives for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). This full-time, on-site role is based in Bethesda, MD.

The candidate should hold a PhD with 10+ years of biological research experience, be capable of advanced techniques, and have authored multiple peer-reviewed articles. A public trust clearance is required prior to onboarding.

Qualifications

• PhD degree required.
• Minimum ten years of biological research experience.
• Knowledge of advanced research techniques.
• Named as author or contributor on multiple peer-reviewed journal articles.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments and studies applying broad professional knowledge.
• Perform electrophysiological recordings in ongoing studies.
• Maintain and update laboratory notebooks and databases.
• Analyze data from multi-electrode projects and prepare figures for publication.
• Prepare summaries, reports and presentations.
• Train and provide support to staff on multi-electrode recording methods.
