Job summary

Axle is seeking a Scientist to join our team supporting the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) at the NIH in Bethesda, MD. The Scientist will conduct experiments using multi-electrode recording, slice and in vivo electrophysiology, and optogenetic stimulation, and will maintain notebooks and databases.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Biology or a related field with at least three years of experience, strong data presentation skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

• Strong background in Biology.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data presentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments using multi-electrode recording.
• Perform slice and in vivo electrophysiological recordings and optogenetic stimulation.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and databases; analyze data; prepare figures and presentations.
• Train and mentor junior staff on recording methods.
