Job summary

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified Network/Telecommunications Specialist to design, install, and maintain an integrated voice/data/video telecommunications utility across the district. The role covers LAN/WAN, Internet connectivity, and coordination of a technical services team under supervision.

The incumbent will support Windows, Server, Windows Client, Macintosh, Unix environments, email, voicemail, and telephony systems, and may lead lab technicians,

OVERVIEW & HIGHLIGHTS

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking aqualified individual as a Network/TelecommunicationsSpecialist. The incumbent under the direction of theTechnical Services Supervisor, performs a wide variety of highlyspecialized, campus-wide, technical support in the design,installation, and maintenance of an integrated voice/data/videotelecommunications utility, local area networks and wide areanetworks, including the Internet. Responsible for coordinating theoperation and maintenance of the utility, and developing plans forthe implementation of new applications to meet changing voice, dataand video communication needs. Supports Windows, Server, WindowsClient, Macintosh, Unix, electronic mail, telephone, voice mail,switch/router systems. May act as a lead and coordinate work teamscomprised of lab technicians, student workers and faculty. Salary: Range CL-43


$35.18 - $44.00 Hourly


$6,098 - $7,626 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week)


Initial Salary Placement: New employees start atStep A ($35.18 per hour) or B ($37.21 per hour) on the salary schedule.

VETERAN'S POINTS


  • Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 daysor more of military service who become eligible for appointment byattaining the passing mark established for the examination, shallbe allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabledveterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points,which shall be added to the percentages attained in theexaminations by the veterans.
