Job summary

Innova Solutions is hiring a Network Technician for a 6-month contract in San Francisco, CA. The role involves cabling, device installation and ongoing network maintenance on client sites. You will troubleshoot, de-install, and replace network equipment, plus support MAC requests and interface with client teams.

The ideal candidate has 5 years in data communications, basic Cisco knowledge, and a HS diploma. Sniffers, cabling, and fiber tester skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and routers.
• Basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Patch cabling between network equipment and customer’s network.
• Install power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet.
• Install, troubleshoot and de-install network equipment.
• Install/swapping out devices (phones, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches).
• Install, troubleshoot, and de-install Network General remote Sniffers.
• Complete all hard and complex MAC requests within defined service levels.
• Interface between customer’s associates and management.
• Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
• Perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing.
• Perform back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the customer’s network as directed.

Job Description

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Network Technician. Position type: Full Time - Contract role. Duration: 6 Months. Location: San Francisco, CA. As a Network Technician, you will:

• Be patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network.
• Be installing the power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet.
• Be installing, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment.
• Be installing/swapping out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.)
• Be installing, troubleshooting, and de-installing Network General remote Sniffers.
• Be completing all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels.
• Be acting as interface between customer’s associates and management.
• Be providing hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
• Be performing onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing.
• Be performing back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the customer’s network as directed.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5 years of experience in data communications.
• Basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and routers
• Basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in utilizing technical tools such as Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
• Familiar with 66 Block and 110 Block cross connect procedures.
• Understand cable patching processes and procedures.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $26 - $28/hr.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
