Innova Solutions is seeking an Infrastructure Technician for a 6-month contract in New Albany, OH. You will install, maintain, and decommission structured cabling, perform fiber splicing, and lead small teams to meet project milestones.

Strong knowledge of NEC/ANSI/TIA/EIA/BICSI standards is required. Ideal candidates will have an associate degree or technical certification and 5+ years of low-voltage cabling experience, plus familiarity with testing tools like Fluke DSX8000, OTDR, and VFL.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic fusion splicing, including high-strand ribbon fiber splicing, termination, and testing.
• Conduct copper and fiber testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Rack, stack, and install network equipment in data center environments.
• Interpret blueprints and technical docs to support project execution.
• Troubleshoot cabling and fiber networks to resolve connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with NEC/ANSI/TIA/EIA/BICSI and safety requirements.
• Lead small teams, mentor technicians, and coordinate with project managers.

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an Infrastructure Technician.

Position type: Full Time - Contract role

Duration: 6 Months

Location: New Albany, OH

As an Infrastructure Technician, you will:

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and decommission structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Perform fiber optic fusion splicing, including high-strand ribbon fiber splicing, termination, and certification testing.
• Conduct copper and fiber testing using Fluke DSX8000, OTDR, and VFL equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Install and remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, patch panels, and network infrastructure components.
• Rack and stack servers, network devices, and telecommunications equipment within enterprise and data center environments.
• Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, port maps, and technical documentation to support project execution.
• Troubleshoot structured cabling, fiber networks, and low-voltage systems to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, ANSI, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards, as well as site‑specific safety requirements.
• Lead small teams of technicians, provide mentorship, and maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Coordinate with project managers, customers, and field teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Maintain accurate documentation for testing results, materials, labor hours, and project progress updates.
• Respond to service requests, support move/add/change activities, and provide exceptional customer‑facing technical support.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Associate degree or technical certificationor equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience installing,maintaining,and troubleshootinglow voltagecabling systems
• Proven ability to install,terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber systems
• Understanding of NEC, ANSI, TIA, EIA, and BICSI standards

Preferred Qualifications:

• BICSI Technician Certification
• Experience with major manufacturers (Panduit,CommScope, Corning, Leviton, etc.)
• Knowledge of Cisco router installation and configuration

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis.

Pay Range:

$30 - $34/hr.
