Job summary

The Government of the Virgin Islands seeks a Network Analyst to oversee the installation, layout, and maintenance of all network components under the Director of Information Technology. You will plan, design, analyze, and support data communications across networks and manage servers, hardware upgrades, and security measures to protect the system.

Key duties include evaluating requirements, planning network installations, resolving complex problems, and documenting solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science with 3 years network experience OR Associate's Degree with 5 years network experience.
• Knowledge of network platforms such as Novell and Windows NT.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills.
• Ability to design and coordinate installation of data networks.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Ability to provide training and user support; develop documentation.

Responsibilities

• Consult with users; evaluate requirements; plan and coordinate installation of data networks.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems for established networks.
• Plan, test, and implement network hardware and software upgrades.
• Provide network documentation, training, and guidance to clients and programmers.
• Troubleshoot network production problems and coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of information accessed by the network.
