Job summary

Government of the Virgin Islands seeks an experienced analyst to oversee ADP applications, analyze complex data processing issues, and resolve system problems. The role involves coordinating testing, implementing program changes, and developing recovery procedures to ensure continuous operations.

Responsibilities include advising management, designing system specifications, and guiding both testing and deployment of new or modified software within the territory.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of system analysis and design techniques to advise management on merits of proposed ADP applications.
• Ability to take action to restore operations and collaborate with management to implement changes in programs.
• Experience with testing processes, recovery planning, and problem resolution in data processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides onsite technical advice to management on data processing application systems.
• Determines causes of unexpected computer stoppage due to data error or machine malfunction.
• Receives, controls, and incorporates modifications into existing systems and coordinates testing.
• Analyzes requests for new programs and modifications, designs data structures and documents specifications.
• Develops instructions to facilitate continuity of operations pending final resolution of issues.
• Monitors system operation and develops recovery plans for failures.
