Job summary

VT Group (VTG) in Pearl City, Hawaii, seeks an IT Specialist to install and maintain LAN hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and backups. You will support JWICS networks, coordinate third‑party maintenance, and document configurations and cabling layouts.

The role requires senior level IT experience with government contracts, security clearances, and hands‑on training of users. A TS clearance and CISSP or Security+ certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least five (5) years providing technical and direct IT helpdesk support (Tier II/III).
• At least five (5) years managing IT systems infrastructure and related processes.
• At least five (5) years of JWICS network experience including account creation, workstation and server installation, server maintenance, and outages.
• At least five (5) years of experience with DISA, NSA, ONI HOPPER, and Special Access Program services.
• At least five (5) years of NMCI refresh and MAC requests.
• At least three (3) years of IT training for personnel.
• At least three (3) years with JWICS-DVTC (Tandberg) technical and administrative.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains LAN hardware and software including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.
• Evaluates LAN hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations; handles related site-specific needs as required
• Coordinates installation of hardware and software by others; coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
• Provides support to and trains users in local area network administration and usage of company email, conference bridge, cell phone setup, and standard PC utilization.
• Monitors and maintains network stability.
• Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
• Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services
• Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts
• Provides a variety of technical and administrative systems support to users to include.
