Job summary

NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is seeking a Network Systems Administrator to join the Finance Information Technology (FIT) Division. You will maintain and optimize 11 sites, 300+ servers, and a Cisco-based LAN/WAN, delivering reliable connectivity for city services.

You’ll design VLANs, implement Cisco switches/routers, troubleshoot IP routing, QoS, VoIP, and security, and provide 4th-level support to DOF and OTI. Residency in NYC is not required for some roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications detailed for LAN/WAN admin including vendor certification(s).
• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of LAN/WAN experience or 6 years IT experience with high school diploma.
• Education/experience equivalencies may apply per qualifications.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop dashboards and network maps for real-time connectivity of DOF devices.
• Ensure network availability and quick resolution of access issues.
• Install Cisco switches to connect to core Nexus switches and DOF apps.
• Configure core routers and switches for LAN/WAN access and VLANs.
• Design and create VLAN subnets for LAN/WAN access.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, IP, routing, VLANs, security, and OTI cloud.
• Develop and implement advanced network management programs and services.
