Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Design and Construction, Technology & Innovation Division, seeks a Certified Network Administrator (LAN/WAN) to design, administer, and secure the agency’s network infrastructure across multiple sites. You will ensure high availability, performance, and resilience while leading IT projects that support modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree or equivalent with 2+ years of LAN/WAN experience.
• Four-year high school diploma with 6+ years of relevant IT experience; at least 2 years in LAN/WAN.
• Equivalency options apply per NYC rules; education/experience substitutions allowed.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, SAN/NAS, Wi-Fi).
• Monitor performance and implement improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot outages and connectivity issues promptly.
• Maintain Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and virtualization/backups.
