Job summary

Vertex Education seeks a Network & Systems Administrator to strengthen our Legacy Traditional Schools infrastructure. You will manage Windows Server, AD, Hyper-V, and a multi-vendor network to ensure reliable, secure access across campuses.

The role emphasizes proactive stability, patching, backups, and on-call support for critical systems. You will also enforce change processes, document network architecture, and automate repetitive tasks to reduce incidents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years administering multi-site Microsoft environments (Windows Server, AD, Hyper-V).
• Strong network fundamentals with hands-on experience in multi-vendor firewalls, switches, and wireless.
• Experience managing hybrid identity platforms (Entra ID, Google Workspace).
• Proficient with enterprise monitoring (PRTG) and backup solutions (Veeam).
• Track record of improving stability via formal change management and incident response.
• Ability to travel onsite to LTS locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Administer core network devices (Palo Alto, UniFi, Juniper) to ensure reliable connectivity.
• Manage server infrastructure (Hyper-V, Azure Stack) for high availability of school services.
• Secure hybrid identity (AD, Entra ID, Google Workspace) for students and staff.
• Apply patches, manage configurations, and execute backups to prevent downtime.
• Respond quickly to outages and perform root-cause analysis for permanent fixes.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of incidents, including post-mortem reviews and on-call support.
• Contribute to change management, documentation, and automation of repetitive tasks.
