Job summary

Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) seeks an experienced Network Administrator to maintain, install and document CNM’s digital network for data, voice and video across campuses. Under supervision, you will ensure reliable LAN/WAN connectivity and coordinate with managed services, vendors and CNM staff.

The role requires troubleshooting, projects for LAN/WAN upgrades, planning, design, testing and implementation, plus involvement in procurement.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience, or four (4) years of related experience.
  • Ability to maintain and document CNM's digital network across CNM campuses.
  • Willingness to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains LAN/WAN network connectivity at CNM campuses and troubleshoots problems.
  • Coordinates efforts with managed services and communications vendors.
  • Participates in LAN/WAN implementation, upgrades and conversion projects.
  • Plans, designs, tests and implements network projects with CNM staff and contractors.
  • Keeps knowledge up to date with network/Unified Communications directions and vendor capabilities.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Senior Network Administrator / Senior Unified Communication Administrator and the direct supervision of the Network Architect, maintain, install and document Central New Mexico Community College’s (CNM) digital network supporting the data, voice and video communications of the college. This position must pass a criminal background check.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains LAN/WAN network connectivity at all CNM campuses. This includes troubleshooting problems, coordinating efforts of managed services and communications vendors, as well as working closely with CNM staff who use network and voice services.
  • Participates in projects to perform LAN/WAN implementations, upgrades and conversion projects.
  • Works on related projects which includes planning, design, testing and implementation, and often includes coordination of all CNM staff involved in the project, oversight of contractors and involvement in procurement activities.
  • Attends training and participates in training opportunities for network administrators to maintain qualifications to work with current technologies in use at CNM.
  • Maintains understanding of network/Unified Communication industry direction and vendor capabilities with respect to wired and wireless network devices, as well as routers, switches, and networking protocols.
  • Collaborates and troubleshoots with other CNM ITS groups.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience.
  • OR Four (4) years of related experience.

Position is not hybrid/remote eligible under CNM's Remote Work Agreement
