Job summary
ScanSource seeks a Design Engineer I to deliver expert network technology guidance, prepare product configurations, and craft technical content for sales enablement. You will engage with partners and suppliers, translate customer needs into holistic technology solutions spanning hardware, software, and licensing, and travel as needed.
The role emphasizes deep product line knowledge, education delivery, and acting as a trusted advisor to customers across scanning multiple vendor solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) year prior related experience and Avaya small/mid market Design certified.
- Experience with Avaya/Mitel technologies.
- Technical documentation, business analysis and/or technical writing experience a plus
- Work history of consultative sales and/or partner-facing roles
- Proven ability to gather and understand customer requirements, business objectives, and success criteria as part of the discovery process.
Responsibilities
- Researches, recommends, and evaluates customer requirements to ensure the needs of the Business Partner and End User are satisfied.
- Prepares configurations via vendor configuration tool with appropriate pricing estimates distributed to all concerned parties.
- Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in field of Communication Technology
- Create technical content for sales enablement and marketing
- Attend supplier and partner conferences as needed
- Participate in customer enablement programs
