Job summary

Gordon Food Service seeks a Solutions Engineer for Supply Chain Network Solutions to drive end-to-end design and implementation of network improvements. You will translate complex concepts into actionable plans for stakeholders and act as the technology thought leader with vendors.

You will partner with Operations, IT, and Finance to build ROI models, leverage simulation tools, and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of network-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Supply Chain Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in solutions design, supply chain engineering, or logistics strategy.
• Experience designing and implementing logistics projects of varying scales.
• Experience collaborating with technology vendors on evaluation and pilots.
• Proficient with warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD.
• Experience with discrete event simulation or digital twin platforms is desirable.
• Knowledge of WMS, WES, TMS/YMS; strong data analysis using SQL/Alteryx/BI-Query.
• Lean Six Sigma or CI methodologies experience preferred.
• Strong vendor relationship management and end-to-end supply chain knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive solution development from ideation to final design for network initiatives.
• Define technology strategy, vendor engagement standards, and feasibility studies.
• Build business cases with ROI and TCO models for capital investments.
• Provide technical leadership across project lifecycles and cross-functional teams.
• Model and validate data-driven designs using simulation and network analytics.
• Communicate complex solutions to stakeholders and partner with IE team for labor baselines.
• Quantify labor impact and measure post-implementation KPIs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
