Job summary

Victoria ISD Technology Department in Victoria, Texas seeks a Technician, Phone, Network and Security (PNS) to administer and operate the district's computer networks. You will develop, maintain, and monitor LAN/WAN, install and oversee hardware, servers, and software, and ensure compliance with laws.

Preferred candidates hold a diploma or degree in network administration and VOIP experience, with CCNA/CCNP or MCSA/MCSE certifications preferred. Immediate start; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in network administration preferred.
• Knowledge of voice over IP telephony systems required.
• CCNA or CCNP certification preferred.
• MCSA or MCSE certification preferred.
• Two years' experience in network maintenance preferred.
• Two years' experience in video surveillance preferred.
• Two years' experience in telephone installation and maintenance preferred.
• Two years' experience in VOIP installation and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve network hardware and software problems.
• Install and test network hardware, software, and upgrades.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on hardware.
• Implement and maintain system configurations.
• Coordinate and monitor system utilization; recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement districtwide security systems; ensure security.
• Design and implement backup procedures for recoverability.
• Assist with disaster recovery planning.
• Serve as liaison to vendors to maintain product support.
• Maintain network design and configuration documentation.
• Assist end users to identify and correct issues.
• Identify and recommend acquisitions to meet district needs.
• Compile, maintain, and file reports and documents.
• Comply with laws, policies, and district rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
