Job summary

TCI Technology Consulting Inc. in Louisville, KY seeks a Network Security Engineer to protect the company’s digital infrastructure from breaches and cyber threats. The role covers configuring firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and monitoring for suspicious activity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• 3–5 years of network engineering or network administration experience.
• Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA) or Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) Desired.
• Experience with Fortinet, Meraki, Cisco or equivalent enterprise networking technologies.
• Experience supporting Azure and AWS cloud networking environments.
• Advanced TCP/IP fundamentals including routing, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, subnetting, network sniffing, WINS, DNS, and DHCP. Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc).

TCI has an immediate need for a Network Security Engineer in Louisville, KY. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire.

NOTE: This position requires US Citizenship.

SUMMARY

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding the company's digital infrastructure against unauthorized access, breaches, and cyberattacks. This role involves configuring and managing protective hardware and software—such as firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and intrusion detection systems. The engineer monitors network traffic for suspicious activity, conducts vulnerability assessments, and leads incident response efforts when security events occur.
