Job summary

Genius Road, LLC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions across on-premises and cloud environments in Tallahassee.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in LAN/WAN, routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network security, with experience in risk assessments, vulnerability management, and complex troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing and switching, wireless networks, firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and data center infrastructure.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise security policies, standards, access controls, and vulnerability management procedures.
• Proficiency in network security architecture, including segmentation strategies, encryption, privileged access management, and secure remote access.
• Experience conducting cybersecurity risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills utilizing network monitoring, security logging, packet analysis, and performance management tools.
• Knowledge of industry security frameworks, regulatory requirements, incident response procedures, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong technical leadership and project management experience supporting enterprise network, cloud, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, including experience developing technical standards, security metrics, executive reports, and network architecture diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and security solutions, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, cloud connectivity, and network segmentation.
• Develop and enforce enterprise security policies, technical standards, access controls, and procedures to protect critical systems and sensitive data.
• Conduct security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation strategies to address emerging threats and operational risks.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats, network anomalies, unauthorized access attempts, and security incidents.
• Design and maintain secure network architectures and segmentation strategies to protect critical infrastructure, restrict lateral movement, and ensure network resiliency.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex network and security incidents, coordinating with technical teams, vendors, and organizational stakeholders.

Location: Tallahassee, Florida (5 days, onsite)
