Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Network School Support Administrator (NSSA) for Network 5 in Chicago. The position reports to the Network Chief of Schools and focuses on coordinating initiatives to support principals, parents, and community stakeholders.

This is a full‑time exempt role with salary in the posted range. The NSSA will partner with Central Office function owners to streamline systems, ensure CPS policy alignment, and manage non‑instructional operations such as budgets and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) and Administrative Endorsement / PK‑12 Principal Endorsement required
• Minimum of three (3) years of Resident Principal, Assistant Principal, and/or Principal experience required.
• This is an on‑site role that requires daily attendance at the assigned work locations.
• Access to reliable transportation to travel within the City of Chicago is required

Responsibilities

• Ensure focused, differentiated support is provided to Principals using district data to monitor and support district initiatives and identify areas requiring additional Network or CO support
• Support Network Chiefs and Deputies in the supervision, development, and performance management of Network Office staff and dotted line resources, including performance evaluations
• Manage day to day operations including budgets, contracts, and policy alignment; ensure CPS policies and procedures are followed
• Support and escalation for school auxiliary services (facilities, transportation, nutrition, IT, etc.) and respond to emergencies
• Handle misconduct, incident, and accident reports; support suspension appeals and expulsions
• Manage grade changes and student enrollments/transfers; oversee emergency referrals
• Coordinate evacuation and drills; partner with CO departments and external agencies for emergencies
• Collaborate with CO on student achievement and school support needs
• Build partnerships and clear communications about CPS policies and procedures
• Develop regular reporting systems and improve attendance in partnership with Network staff
