Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced systems engineer to build and evolve traffic-critical services on the Cloudflare egress path from the host Linux kernel up through the network dataplane. You will impact reliability and performance for millions of users in a high-scale environment.

You will collaborate with operations, networking, and product teams to deploy, debug, and optimize distributed systems, learning new technologies as needed. This role is based in Austin, Texas.

Qualifications

• Systems-level programming experience in Go, Python, Rust, C, or C++.
• Solid grasp of BGP and internet routing.
• Experience deploying and debugging distributed systems.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend traffic-carrying systems end-to-end on the Cloudflare network egress path.
• Start at host server Linux kernel and integrate towards the network dataplane until the interconnect.
• Serve millions of customers depending on these systems.
• Solve problems of massive scale shaping reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineers across the company from operations to product teams.
