Job summary

Cloudflare in Austin, TX is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Product Platform Tools team to design and operate backend services powering the internal platform. You will work with engineering across the company to onboard applications and ensure scalable, secure integrations.

You will collaborate with Support, Legal, and Security to meet operational needs, improve observability, and reduce toil while maintaining reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building backend services and APIs.
• Ability to scale distributed systems in a large organization.
• Strong security-minded approach to platform governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate backend services, infrastructure, APIs, and integrations that power Cloudflare’s internal platform.
• Onboard support and admin applications onto the platform with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Support, Legal, and Security to meet operational needs and translate to platform capabilities.
• Own and improve the platform’s security and authorization posture with governance requirements.
• Ramp quickly into unfamiliar codebases and improve reliability across the platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive post-incident reviews to raise reliability.
• Contribute to platform observability and developer experience across teams.
