Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced systems engineer to build and evolve traffic-critical services on the Cloudflare egress path from the host Linux kernel up through the network dataplane. You will impact reliability and performance for millions of users in a high-scale environment.

You will collaborate with operations, networking, and product teams to deploy, debug, and optimize distributed systems, learning new technologies as needed. This role is based in Austin, Texas.

Qualifications

• Systems-level programming experience in Go, Python, Rust, C, or C++.
• Solid grasp of BGP and internet routing.
• Experience deploying and debugging distributed systems.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Start at host server Linux kernel and integrate towards the network hardware dataplane until the physical interconnect to an adjacent network
• Serve millions of customers who depend on these systems even if they are not directly visible to them
• Solve problems of massive scale and significance, shaping the future of reliability and performance on the Internet
• Collaborate with engineers across the company, from operations teams to teams building customer‑facing products

Requirements

• Systems‑level programming experience in Go, Python, Rust, C, or C++
