Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Network Operator to monitor network performance, identify outages, and coordinate maintenance activities. You will support field staff using monitoring tools and workflow systems and help keep all communications flowing smoothly.

The role involves prioritizing technician workload, dispatching tasks, and providing troubleshooting guidance while maintaining accurate outage records. A stable schedule and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience; telecoms a plus.
• Ability to perform routine dispatching functions using phones and IM.
• Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and Project.
• Good planning skills with a track record of accomplishments.
• Ability to work required days/hours; weekends possible.
• Regular attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Track outages, escalate and identify outages via monitoring tools.
• Initiate communication with maintenance technicians for updates and safety.
• Prioritize, assign and dispatch work for maintenance technicians via WFM.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance to technicians using monitoring tools.
• Record outage/maintenance data accurately in the database.
• Answer inbound calls and support technicians promptly.
• Monitor outage detection tools (CID, Alarm Central, Auto Outage Dashboard).
• Ensure channels are on the air and report irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform other duties as required.
