Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Network Operator to monitor network performance, identify issues, and coordinate maintenance activities. You will support field staff using monitoring and workforce tools, and help prioritize and assign workload to maintenance technicians.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of customer service experience and strong communication skills. A hybrid schedule is offered with comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage and a generous 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience; telecommunications industry a plus.
• Ability to perform routine dispatching functions such as answering telephones and using instant messenger.
• Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking.
• Demonstrated use of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Project, etc.

Responsibilities

• Outage tracking and escalation via system monitoring tools.
• Communicate with maintenance technicians to gather updates and ensure safety.
• Prioritize, assign, and dispatch work for maintenance technicians via Workforce Management.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance through system monitoring tools.
• Record accurate outage/maintenance data via database.
• Answer inbound calls from technicians and provide support.
• Monitor outage detection tools and report irregularities to proper personnel.
• Ensure channels are on the air and report any issues to the appropriate team.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
