Job summary

Lumen is seeking an Operations Technician (Network Operation Center Environment) to support DHS and other specialized customers in NCPS initiatives. You will perform fiber maintenance, troubleshoot routers and firewalls, and manage fault analysis in a fast-paced data center environment.

This role requires strong communication, 24x7 availability, and experience with Juniper, Netscreen, SolarWinds, and Cisco equipment, along with TS clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with peers and customers.
• Willingness to work 24x7 shift coverage, weekends and holidays.
• Familiar with Juniper (JunOS), Netscreen Firewalls, SolarWinds, Cisco Networking Hardware.
• Experience with application-level firewalls (proxies).
• Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain TSSCI.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber maintenance including installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cable.
• Provide hands-on technical support for routers, switches, servers, and firewalls in a Data Center/office.
• Troubleshoot networks and perform hardware repairs.
• Develop and follow a MOP and proactively address issues.
• Generate trouble tickets and interface with customers; handle escalations.
• Monitor, configure, troubleshoot Tier 1–2 events on network devices.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
