Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking an IT Systems Engineer II to provide advanced Tier II support for a nationwide fiber network. You will lead NOC activities, troubleshoot IP and network management issues, and work with vendors to resolve critical outages.

A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required and a 24x7 shift may be necessary. The role emphasizes reliability, expertise in network protocols, and collaboration with engineering teams across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• On-call after hours and 24x7 shift support as required.
• Travel up to 15% to labs and NOC locations.
• Proficient knowledge of routing, switching and security architectures.
• SNMP is required and Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
• Security+ or equivalent IAT/IAM/IASAE Level 2 of DoD 8570.1 is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as NOC primary contact for problem escalations and coordinate with vendors.
• Lead IP and NM activities and mentor Tier I NOC staff.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, identify trends and systemic problems.
• Maintain network diagrams, CLR and routing spreadsheets.
• Provide guidance for SOPs and operational documentation.
