Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Network Operations Specialist to join our team at Program Executive Office Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation in Orlando, FL.

• Must be a US Citizen
• DoD Secret Clearance required

The Network Operations Specialist will be responsible for supporting the US Army’s PEO STRI in Orlando, FL. This role involves managing and maintaining computer networks to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of government information assets. Additionally, the administrator will help protect national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain overall responsibility for the Network delivery team.
• Provide daily supervision and direction to personnel across the Network Team.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity problems, including monitoring the network and servers for issues, diagnosing problems, and taking appropriate corrective measures for expedient resolution.
• Install, administer, support, and maintain server hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems.
• Experience with Juniper, Cisco, and Aruba networking equipment.
• Collect and review network utilization data for capacity planning.
• Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
• Interface with vendors for procurement and maintenance of all IT infrastructures.
• Support the development and delivery of training sessions to ensure staff understanding of network resources.

Qualifications

• IAT Level II Certification or higher per DoD 8570/8140 (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
• Eight (8+) years of relevant experience or a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field with four (4+) years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Juniper, Cisco, and Aruba networking equipment.

Preferred:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.
• Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos) or equivalent.
• Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in VMWare NSX or CISCO VXLAN.
• Knowledgeable in creating PPS (Ports, Protocols, & Services) requests.
• Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Team leader seeking growth into supervisory responsibilities.
