Job summary

ProFound People seeks a Network Operations Engineer for our data center network in Denver, CO. This hands-on role owns advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and incident escalation across a globally distributed data center network.

You will diagnose Layer 1–3 issues, coordinate with facilities and engineering, and drive resolution while contributing to monitoring, automation, dashboards, SOPs, and capacity planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Network Operations Engineer, Data Center Network | Denver, CO

I'm hiring Tier 2 NOC Engineer’s to own advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and incident escalation across a globally distributed data center network.

This is a hands-on technical role where you'll be the engineer who takes ownership of complex, escalated cases from Tier 1 and drives them to resolution personally.

You'll operate and troubleshoot routing and switching infrastructure directly, diagnosing Layer 1 through 3 issues across a large-scale production network, everything from patch panels and optics to cabling and transceiver-level transport problems.

When a major incident hits, you're initiating and driving the response, coordinating with data center facilities teams and engineering as needed, and communicating clearly with stakeholders under pressure.

Beyond reactive troubleshooting, you'll contribute to monitoring, automation, and process improvement, building dashboards and alerts, refining SOPs based on recurring issues, and supporting capacity planning and scaling work.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of network operations experience with a focus on data center networks specifically.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in data center networking, rack installations, routers, switches, VLANs, and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
• Strong Layer 1-3 troubleshooting experience in a large-scale production environment, not lab or theoretical knowledge.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG, and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with a genuine sense of ownership and urgency.
• CCNP, JNCIP, or ITIL v4 certification preferred but not required.
