Job summary

Global Channel Management seeks a Specialist, Network Operations to support FTTP network performance, 24x7 coverage, and escalated troubleshooting. The role requires willingness to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays.

You will monitor networks, triage faults, and provide technical support to field technicians while coordinating with National Operations for timely restoration of service.

Qualifications

• Entry level scripting experience in JavaScript, Perl, Python, or any scripting language.
• Usually requires a 2 year degree.
• Specialist, Network Operations will provide 24x7 network management and analysis for the FTTP voice and data network.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation of FTTP network performance data.
• Trouble ticket management, OASIS flash management, & processing escalations.
• Identifying initial fault isolation including triage and technical support to CO and outside plant technicians.
• Participates in staffing a 24 hour FTTP Network Management Center to ensure customer satisfaction, network quality, and cost goals are met.
• Resolves network problems and outages and takes actions to improve network performance.
• Interact with National Operations, Network Operations and National Services to restore customer impacting conditions.

Monitors reliability of network infrastructure and operating systems on multiple platforms. Diagnoses and repairs problems. Usually requires a 2 year degree. 1-5 years of experience.

Entry level scripting experience in JavaScript, Perl, Python, or any scripting language, developing ad hoc reports, or network maintenance tools.â€

Specialist, Network Operations will provide 24x7 network management and analysis for the FTTP voice and data network. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Evaluation of FTTP network performance data
• Trouble ticket management, OASIS flash management, & processing escalations
• Identifying initial fault isolation including triage and technical support to CO and outside plant technicians
• Participates in staffing a 24 hour FTTP Network Management Center to ensure customer satisfaction, network quality, and cost goals are met
• Resolves network problems and outages and takes actions to improve network performance
• Interact with National Operations, Network Operations and National Services to restore customer impacting conditions
• The candidate must be able to work any of the three shifts and rotate based on needs of the business. Weekends, holidays, and overnight work may be required.
• The candidate will demonstrate knowledge of TDM and VOIP voice technologies, data related technologies including VOIP, broadband networking, gigabit networking, and VOD technologies.
• Knowledge of basic routing protocols and internal system tools (vRepair, IVAPP, TACACS, INMS, OASIS, & MASTARS) is highly desired.
