Job summary

City of New York’s Office of Labor Relations IT Operations Division seeks a Network Specialist to manage switches, servers, patching, DHCP, DNS, and admin of network accounts. The role will support CIO, Supervisor, and Help Desk while assisting with IT projects and ticket resolution.

Qualifications

• Professional/vendor certification(s) in local area network administration.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or equivalent.
• 2+ years of full-time LAN/WAN experience; for higher levels, 6+ years as described in the min qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network switches, NAS, and VMware servers.
• Troubleshoot network services, endpoint devices, and security software; apply patches.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and Office 365 mail.
• Monitor performance and tune networks; support help desk.
• Document issues and resolutions for reference.
• Provide hardware and software support on-site and remote.
• Support security systems (door access, video surveillance, teleconferencing).

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher

2+ years LAN/WAN experience

1 year IT experience as described in minimum qualifications
