Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician II in Wisconsin to install, troubleshoot, and maintain telecommunications products and equipment for business customers. You will handle outside plant facilities, splicing fiber and copper as well as copper facilities, and you will engage directly with customers while seeking sales opportunities.

The role follows a Sunday–Wednesday schedule with four 10-hour shifts and participation in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience or prior military service with honorable discharge
• 6+ months of basic fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, tests, splices, repairs, and maintains telephone and network equipment for customers.
• Installs, configures, maintains, and repairs Key Systems, PBX, Centrex and related services; identifies cable location and performs tests.
