Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment for business customers. The role involves splicing and maintaining outside plant facilities, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber and copper cables, with direct customer interaction and sales opportunities.

Based near Pequot Lakes, MN, you will be expected to travel within a 60-minute radius from the Pequot Lakes warehouse and join a team dedicated to

Qualifications

1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience.
6+ months of fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must follow attendance guidelines and be available for on-call/standby responsibilities.

Responsibilities

On-site installation, troubleshooting, testing, splicing, repairing, and maintaining telephone and network equipment for new and existing customers.
Identify defective cable locations and perform burial/underground or aerial work; locate and mark facilities to prevent damage.
Provide troubleshooting support and respond to trouble dispatches.
Educate customers on TDS products and services and seek sales opportunities.
Learn RUS standards and grounding practices for outside plant facilities.
