Job summary

TDS Telecom is hiring a Field Service Technician‑Network in Wisconsin. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain telecommunications products including fiber and copper facilities, with emphasis on customer-facing service and proactive sales opportunities.

The role requires knowledge of outside‑plant facilities, splicing, and experience with various telecom systems. On‑site work, occasional travel, and a 60‑minute resident proximity are expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience or military service with honorable discharge.
• 6+ months of fiber/copper splicing, installation and repair experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to meet TDS attendance guidelines and be available for overtime/on‑call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, tests, splices, repairs, and maintains telecom equipment and network gear for customers.
• Configures and maintains key systems, PBX/Centrex, and related business systems.
• Identify defective cable locations and perform splicing in aerial, buried, or underground facilities.
• Provide proactive customer service, educate customers on TDS products, and identify sales opportunities.
