Lightpath is seeking a Network Facilities Engineer to manage and oversee the critical facility infrastructure to include but not limited to structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing of our owned and external vendor colocation facilities. Responsibilities include tracking all assets, scheduling preventative maintenance, monitoring of each facility from an infrastructure maintenance, infrastructure upgrade, emergency response, and customer support perspective.
We’re looking for a skilled, enthusiastic colocation operations engineer to help organize and operate several colocation facilities from an infrastructure maintenance and upgrade perspective. This position is responsible for the support of the planning, designing, and engineering of power and space allocations within the Lightpath facilities and Datacenters. Individuals in this position are responsible for supporting 100% uptime for the Datacenter and its customers. The power and space solution will also include the budgetary approval process as well as project management of the solution to completion. The Network Facilities Engineer will validate all solutions are complete and meet the quality standards. All necessary databases and systems updates are required. It is expected that he/she will be self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and be able to self-manage capital projects with an outstanding professional attitude.
Will track all aspects of operations and performance of Critical infrastructure and will submit reports that will result in upgrades-based performance and/or capacity. This position will create and submit MOPs (Method of Procedure) and coordinate all work. These facilities consist of leased space within buildings that have power and cooling for LP and customer electronic equipment as well as leased space within a colocation facility that is either a cage or cabinet where electronic equipment is placed and/or fiber cross connects interconnect to other spaces within the facility or building. These spaces are also ILA huts along a fiber route from New Jersey to Ashburn VA where LP and LP customers house electronic equipment for their leased fiber network from LP.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. The pay range at the time of posting in the specified locations is $115,000- $125,000/year. Pay ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.
