Job Summary

We are seeking a Network Facilities Engineer to oversee critical facility infrastructure, including structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within owned and vendor colocation facilities. The role involves asset management, preventative maintenance scheduling, infrastructure upgrades, and monitoring to ensure operational excellence, emergency preparedness, and customer satisfaction.

The engineer will support planning, designing, and engineering power and space allocations, ensuring 100% uptime for data centers and clients. Responsibilities include project management, budget oversight, solution validation, database updates, and self-management of capital projects with professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all critical infrastructure maintenance, including HVAC, generators, power plants, and BMS systems.
  • Manage vendor contracts for routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Design and plan power and space allocations within facilities.
  • Support data collection for capacity planning and network expansion.
  • Oversee project execution, including budgeting, quality assurance, and documentation.
  • Support emergency procedures for power outages.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage infrastructure upgrades and construction projects.
  • Review and monitor colocation vendor performance and capacity.
  • Provide data for network growth and capacity planning.
  • Develop and improve processes, SOPs, and MOPs.
  • Support cost efficiency, resiliency, and reliability initiatives.
  • Assist installation teams with fiber connectivity and design queries.
  • Engage with customers and vendors to maintain relationships.
  • Availability for after-hours support during outages or issues.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in colocation facility operations, maintenance, planning, engineering, or deployment.
  • Experience managing critical systems in telecommunications facilities preferred.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunication networks and equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry networking technologies, UPS, generators, mechanical systems.
  • Expertise in DC and AC power infrastructure, including batteries and power distribution.
  • Experience with large battery installations.
  • Familiarity with test equipment and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and relevant systems like Netcracker or Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and multitasking ability.
  • Willingness to travel for site surveys, inspections, and meetings.
