Job summary

Bishop & Company is seeking a Network Engineer for an exciting ISSO Development Program in Honolulu, HI. The role combines hands-on network engineering with training toward DoD cybersecurity responsibilities, security controls, and system documentation.

Candidates must reside on Oahu and be available for interview immediately. The position emphasizes design, admin, and security tasks across Windows and Linux environments, with progression toward ISSO duties as training and qualifications advance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field; certifications or equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum two years of experience in network administration, system administration, or related IT roles preferred.
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, cybersecurity fundamentals, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support design, installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of network systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity and system issues, and implement improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Assist in designing and implementing network security architectures and safeguards to strengthen cybersecurity posture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues.
• Provide support for Windows and Linux systems and related network infrastructure.
• Perform network and system security checks and assist with STIG implementation.
• Build knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, controls, and system security documentation.
