Jovian Concepts is seeking a Network Engineer Level 3 in the Annapolis Junction, MD area to design, implement, maintain, and upgrade critical networks supporting national security missions.

The role requires a current TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland polygraph and involves working with Cisco/Arista gear, firewalls, and cryptography equipment. Occasional travel to OCONUS locations and on-call duties are possible.

Qualifications

• Master’s in CS or information security with 10 years of network engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s in a related field with 12 years total experience in network engineering.
• IAT level I baseline certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Configure and support systems in person or remotely; field new gear.
• Provide ongoing network support including firewalls and crypto gear; SSP compliance.
• Use JIRA for ticketing and lab environments for system upgrades.
• Coordinate with sites to resolve network incidents.

Network Engineer Level 3 - Annapolis Junction, MD

Jovian Concepts, LLC is seeking a
Network Engineer Level 3 for an exciting opportunity in the

Clearance Requirement

A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland (MD) polygraph is required for consideration. CCA candidates will not be considered for this position at this time.

The Network Engineer will perform all network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, andupgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and relateddocuments. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversionsand cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolvenetwork or system incidents. Translates business requirements intotelecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designsand orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives insupport of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancementdesign for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assiststelecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, andtelecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team that will configure systems and support them in person or remotely while fielding any new gear
• Additionally, you will be responsible for ongoing Networking support to include firewall and Crypto gear
• Utilize JIRA for ticketing
• Work in lab environments in support of new systems and upgrading configs
• A substantial amount of time will be spent on SSP compliance work

Clearance Requirement

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support and training commensurate with network engineering curriculum.
• In lieu of a Master’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline and an additional two (2) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support for a total of twelve (12) years.
• In lieu of a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree an additional six (6) years experience providing Network Engineering support and a Certification in an industry standard (Arista Configuration Essentials, Cisco Certified Network Associate, or Juniper Certification Tracks (Automation & DevOps, Cloud, Data Center, Design, Enterprise Routing and Switching, Junos Security, Service Provider Routing and Switching)) may be substituted for a total of 16 years.
• An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level I baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

• The ideal candidate for this position must have significant Cisco and Arista Configuration and sustainment experience.
• Experience with Firewalls.
• Required to travel occasionally/as needed to OCONUS locations and be on-call for Operational systems (once up to speed)

• Experience with Network design
• Experience automating repetitive tasks, inventory collection, compliance requirements etc.
• Experience working in the cloud or with Hyperconverged infrastructure and containerized environments
• Familiar with Latte ‘Art and supporting STE/STN and SSP compliance for those devices.
