Jovian Concepts, LLC in Annapolis Junction, MD seeks a System Engineer Level 6 to advance national security missions through design, deployment, and sustainment of complex IT and SIGINT systems.

The role requires active TS/SCI with MD polygraph, and hands-on leadership in system and network administration across Linux/Windows, virtualization, and cloud concepts. You will document designs, draft transition plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams using JIRA and Confluence.

Jovian Concepts, LLC is seeking a System Engineer Level 6 for an exciting opportunity in the AnnapolisJunction, MD area. At Jovian Concepts, our people drive our success. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland (MD) polygraph is required for consideration. CCA candidates will not be considered for this position at this time.

The Systems Engineer Level 6 will be responsible for the documentation of all phases of the design, implementation, and maintenance for the deployment of new systems or upgrading current systems to FS sites (e.g. drafting preliminary design reviews, mission transition plans).

The Level 6 System Engineer shall possess thefollowing key capabilities:

• Deep understanding of multiple communications technologies, virtualization, systems architecture, and infrastructure for IT systems and SIGINT platforms.
• Proficient in designing, interpreting, and modifying System and Network Engineering Drawings (Visio, Adobe)
• Expertise in system and network administration across diverse platforms, including Linux and Windows environments.
• Extensive experience in network and data processing system integration, hardware and software configuration, deployment, and sustainment.
• Understanding/experience in Cisco networking, including routers, switches, and security protocols.
• Skilled in network and data processing system integration, including rack and stack installation, cabling, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and best practices.
• The ability to create detailed system documentation and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (JIRA and Confluence).
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Sharepoint.

Requirements

• Experience with Hyper Converged Infrastructure: Rancher/Harvester, Nutanix, Cisco Hyperflex, Azure Stack HCI, etc.
• Experience with Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Podman
• Config Management: Ansible, SaltStack
• Code Deployment: GitLab
• Monitoring: Nagios, Zabbix, ELKStack
• Backups: Runbrik
• Ticketing/Documentation: Jira/Confluence
• Compliance Experience: Latte'Art, Biscotti
• Cloud: AWS or other experience
• Experience migrating from Bare-Metal to the cloud
• Experience designing large scale environments for customers

Qualifications

• ABachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a relateddiscipline (See Note 2)from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systemsengineering experience

OR

• AHigh School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general system engineeringexperience (any ProcessArea).

OR

• AMaster’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a relateddiscipline (See Note 2) froman accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineeringexperience

OR

• APhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (SeeNote 2) from an accreditedcollege or university plus sixteen (16) years of systems engineering experience.

Note1 – Examples of qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical,Chemical, Civil,Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems,and Engineering Management.Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable.

Note2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science,Information Systems,Mathematics, and Physics. Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable
