Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Network Engineer Level II to join the HQ Network Operations team. You will assist with WAN/LAN, VoIP, WLAN, and telecommunications technologies and support the cable plant and network equipment.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and IA certifications, with ongoing certification within 9 months. You will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and report to management with regular updates.

Qualifications

• Two years of progressive experience in general information technology, including computer networks consisting of WAN, LAN, WLAN, and VoIP.
• Three years experience in administrative, technical or investigative work with information systems.
• U.S. Citizens required.
• Must obtain IA certifications such as CEH, Security+, GCIH, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP within 9 months.
• Operating System/Computing Environment Certificate (CCST–Networking) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all tasks involving every facet of the Network Operations team as it relates to WAN/LAN, VoIP, WLAN, and telecommunications technologies.
• Assists in day-to-day operations of physical cable plant and installation requirements for network and telecommunications services.
• Monitors network performance using diagnostic tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, ipconfig) and network monitoring tools.
• Installs and replaces Network Operations equipment and maintains configurations for hardware and software.
• Documents network configurations and changes and participates in 24/7 on-call rotation for overall network support.
