Job summary

FiberLight in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking a Network Engineer II to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure on site. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the network, gaining exposure to routing protocols, network automation, and Layer 2 technologies.

This role emphasizes hands-on configuration, documentation, and mentoring of junior engineers, with CCNP and hands-on Cisco/Juniper

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant networking or telecom experience.
• Strong experience with BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing.
• Proficiency in Python and Ansible for network automation.
• Experience with GitHub for version control.
• Solid Layer 2 knowledge including MPLS and EVPL.
• CCNP or related certifications are a plus.
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper equipment.
• Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, implementation, and management of network infrastructures.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS).
• Develop and maintain Python/Ansible automation scripts.
• Use GitHub for version control and collaboration on automation projects.
• Analyze network performance and implement optimizations.
• Ensure network security and compliance with standards.
• Document network designs, configurations, procedures.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers on technical tasks.
• Help document network configurations and basic designs.
