Job summary

FiberLight, LLC is seeking a Network Engineer II in the Dallas–Fort Worth area to design, implement, and maintain our metro network infrastructure, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

You will work with routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS), Python and Ansible for automation, and contribute to security, reliability, and scalability while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant networking or telecommunications experience.
  • Solid experience with BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.
  • Proficiency in Python and Ansible for network automation.
  • Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking technologies, including MPLS and EVPL.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and other major network equipment manufacturers.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of network security practices and technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with SDN is a plus.
  • Experience working with remote Technicians on site.

As a Network Engineer II, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining FiberLight’s network infrastructure, working collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. You will ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our network while gaining exposure to advanced routing protocols, network automation, and Layer 2 technologies. This role provides opportunities to take on increasing responsibility in telecommunications engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
