Job summary

JSI in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Network Engineer I to support the BBIP team in designing, implementing and troubleshooting IP broadband networks for ISPs. This position is based in our Lubbock office and offers opportunities to grow within a mission-driven, growth-focused organization.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in MIS, Engineering or CS with strong networking fundamentals, good communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS/Engineering/CS with GPA expectations.
• Basic networking knowledge required.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Office.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and obtain certifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing IP broadband and telecom networks for ISPs.
• Implementing network designs and configuring devices.
• Troubleshooting issues in existing networks with ISPs.
• Consulting on network stability, resiliency and cybersecurity.
• Documenting and diagramming networks and processes.
• Communicating technical concepts clearly.
• Keeping up with industry developments and best practices.
• Pursue independent research and certifications to improve expertise.
