Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer I to support the GSMO-II program at Scott AFB, IL, providing 24x7 network operations in the DGOC.

The role involves configuring circuits, real-time rerouting, and collaborating with DoD and government partners to maximize network availability.

Qualifications include a relevant bachelor's degree with <2 years' experience, DoD 8570 IAT Level 2, TS/SCI eligibility, and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with <2 years’ relevant experience.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start.
• Able to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
• General understanding of Transport and IP network topologies.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations to include configuration and analysis of customer circuits across optical and electro-optical multiplexers, routers, and switches.
• Perform real-time circuit redesign (alternate routing) to restore customer connectivity during outages and maintenance actions.
• Work with internal and external customers and government agencies to maximize network availability.
• Proactively monitor network alarms across platform management tools.
• Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement and software configurations.
• Utilize incident management applications to document outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions.
• Assess and recommend resolutions to network incidents leveraging knowledge of routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, Cisco, Juniper, MSPP, optical transport, MPLS, and SDH/SONET.
