Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, or another related field, or a combination of experience in the Information Technology field with an emphasis in networking and education may be used to meet the Bachelor’s Degree requirement.
Certification or Licensure: None required. Certifications in current technologies and network applications are highly desirable.
Skills: Knowledge of all seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS) including commitment to students, knowledge of the job, professionalism, interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving. Extensive understanding of networking concepts; experience and knowledge of using network troubleshooting equipment and tools, switching, and routing protocols. Ability to follow standard operating procedures, write detailed reports, write technical specifications, and user instructions, ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Work Experience: Professional background spanning five or more years of work-related experience in managing, developing, or supporting a local and wide area network as the primary area of responsibility.
This position is responsible for supporting the Instructional and Administrative functions of the Richmond County School System by providing and maintaining the infrastructure operations of the local and wide area network as well as performing advanced technical responsibilities including, but not limited to designing, developing network and industry security standards, researching technology alternatives, and planning network capabilities to support district goals and operational requirements.
