Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent mix of experience focusing on networking in education).
• Certifications in current technologies are highly desirable.
• Extensive networking knowledge; experience with troubleshooting equipment, switching, and routing protocols; ability to write reports and instructions.
• Five or more years of work experience managing, developing, or supporting a local and wide area network.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and support the Richmond County School System Local and Wide Area Network(s).
• Configure network electronics, wireless access points, switches, routers per SOPs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues with root cause analysis.
• Configure, enforce and maintain firewall policies and access controls.
• Create and maintain network documentation and reports; communicate findings.
• Develop project plans and coordinate with cross-functional teams (admins, developers, IT support).
• Evaluate new tools/technologies to improve network capabilities.
