Job summary

Amazon Leo Government (ALG Engineering) seeks a Network Development Engineer to design, build, and operate network infrastructure across data center environments. You will deliver reliable and scalable production and lab systems with advanced switching, routing, segmentation, and automation.

You will apply Linux networking and automation to support multi-tenant platforms, collaborating with hardware, systems, and software teams to implement new designs and improve performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 1+ years Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 3+ years network engineering experience (design, deployment, operations).
• Proficiency in network automation (Python, Ansible, or equivalent) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with enterprise/data center switching platforms (Arista, Cisco Nexus, Juniper).
• Hands-on experience with Linux networking (bridges, namespaces, virtual interfaces, firewalling).
• Experience operating in multi-tenant or shared infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design & deploy network architectures — switching fabrics, routing, segmentation, and connectivity across data center and infrastructure environments.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows; build tooling that enables infrastructure to scale at higher volume.
• Operate & sustain multi-tenant network environments including technology refresh, scaling, and optimization — delivering simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions.
• Troubleshoot & resolve complex cross-domain network events spanning physical layer through application connectivity; diagnose root cause and mitigate impact.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software engineering teams to define requirements and ensure smooth rollout of new designs and products.
• Lead projects in network deployment, sustaining engineering, and infrastructure scaling.
• Maintain standards for change management, documentation (SOPs, implementation guides, knowledge transfer), and configuration control; ensure compliance across the networking toolset.
